Placemats by Modern Twist

Modern Twist was founded by Kat Nouri and is based in the San Francisco Bay area. Offering a minimalist design aesthetic, Modern-twist home accessories are made of food-grade, hand-silkscreened, silicone. Modern Twist aims to ‘bring art to the table’ by collaborating with independent artists and designers, such as Matte Stephens, Amy Rupell and Rex Ray.

We have carried Modern Twist placemats and coasters for a few years now, but we thought it was time to freshen up our collection. We have these designs in stock among others and coasters too! Check out our full selection in the shop and online.

Urubbu: We’ve got it!

Send a lighthearted paper collage card today. ( I just sent one to my Grandmother!) We have been awaiting our order since we saw Urubbu at the Stationary Show earlier this year. Now, I am happy to report that all these fine animals and many more are available in the shop.

Love for Local Surface Design Studio:Pattern People

Pattern People is a surface design studio founded by designers Claudia Brown and Jessie Whipple Vickery. They have offices here in Portland and also in London. This talented pair creates designs and patterns for every kind of surface you can imagine, from fabric and textiles to paper, packaging and interiors. They are not afraid of color- something you know we admire here at Tilde. Their designs range from bold and vibrant to subtle and quiet. Pattern People has a great website where they offer free downloads of some of their patterns as well as a wealth of pure pattern love and upcoming trends. Portland is home to so many talented artists and designers!

New Art @ Tilde:Shira Sela + Found Studio

Shira Sela is an artist and illustrator who lives and works in Montreal, QC. We are thrilled to have a selection of her striking and imaginative prints. I could go for a zebra hug right about now, how about you?

Kacey Stafford is the artist behind Found Studio. She currently lives in Baltimore where she hunts down lovely vintage ephemera to re-purpose in her art. We have several of her original pieces featuring animal silhouettes.
