Sellwood Matching Game WINNER!
Congrats to Josh who was the big winner of the Sellwood Matching Game posted last week. He won a gift certificate to Tilde. We were so impressed with everyone who submitted answers to our pictorial quiz, cause everyone got the majority of the pictures correct. You are smart and clearly love the neighborhood of Sellwood as much as we do.
For those who care, here are the answers to our little quiz. Follow along in left to right for each box of pics.

Sellwood Matching Game!
Interested in winning a Gift Certificate for $25 to Tilde? We’ve put together some mindless fun. Here’s the deal. The pictures below are a mix of well known entities, and those a bit obscure, all located within the neighborhood in which we dwell: Sellwood. Email us the name (or definition) of as many of the pictures that you recognize. The people that submit over five correct answers will be entered in a drawing to win the aforementioned $25 Tilde gift certificate!
Use our Contact Form to submit your answers. The pictures are in no specific order, just take your best stab at naming those pictures you recognize. Entries must be received Friday, January 7th. The winner will be contacted the week of January 10th.

Sellwood Westmoreland Decemberville!
The holidays are right around the corner, and on December 4th and December 5th the Sellwood Westmoreland neighborhoods (where Tilde dwells) will host their 4th annual Decemberville event to kick the season into high gear. This fantastic winter sale offers super discounts throughout various retail locations in the adjacent Southeast Portland neighborhoods.
Tilde will be offering 20% off on a single item (over $10) on both days of the sale. Think handbags, jewelry and all those other lovelies you have been coveting!

December 1st Friday artists – group show preview
Tilde invites you to what promises to be our most celebratory First Friday art reception of the year held from 6pm to 9pm on Friday, December 3rd. The show will be on our walls through Friday, January 7th, 2011.
This extra special show for December features seven (yes, count them, seven!) of our favorite artists working in a wide variety of mediums each showcasing 10 current works all presented in 6” x 6” format.
We’ll open with all 70 of these individual pieces of art on the walls of Tilde during the artist’s reception. As this show is timed to be up for the holiday season, all the artwork has been curated with gift giving in mind. Meaning – all pieces are available for immediate purchase! We anticipate they will be moving quickly so hope to see you at the reception or soon thereafter.

Welcome to Sellwood – Cloud Cap Games
We are so happy to welcome our new neighbors, Cloudcap Games, to our awesome neighborly neighborhood. With a fun grand opening event this Saturday, November 20th from 11am to 7pm, be sure to stop by to take a peek into the colorful shop offering fun and games galore.
With a tagline of “Putting Play Back on the Table,” we are all looking forward to checking out all the board games, card games, and puzzles Cloudcap Games has to offer. Plus, they’ll be open late a few nights a week to feature (and offer play time for you and your pals) different board games. Kids and adults are welcome.

Mywalit wallets (!) from Italy to you
Welcome to the largest assortment of super soft, super colorful wallets that have ever existed within our shop’s walls. Wallets for all your walleting needs. Big billfolds, little wallets, coin purses, small traveling wallets. (Get the feeling we are going to use ‘wallet’ aLOT in this post? Get ready.)
In addition to Mywalit‘s gorgeous women’s wallets, this fab Italian line has just released their very popular men’s wallet line to the US. For years these wallets have been picked up by those traveling around Europe, but have never seen our shores.
Not anymore, however! We proudly welcome six different styles of men’s wallets, all of them quite cool. Definitely styled differently than boring domestic wallets, these sweet gems have different types of compartments to hold bills and cards. And, we have to admit that these euro-billfolds might just be better designs that what our guys have been walking around with crammed in their pockets all these years…

Sellwood: the place where we dwell
Our neighborhood of Sellwood was recently featured in a nice article from the Portland online site Neighborhood Notes. We love our neighborhood, have been located here over four years, and have been watching Sellwood continue to evolve from a little street of primarily antique shops to a (now) bustling area full of the perfect mix of shops, restaurants, and art galleries.
Sellwood is one of the older neighborhoods in Portland and still holds its charm. Tilde's building was constructed in 1904 first as a laundry – and we still have all the plumbing pipes on the walls to prove it! Our community was built when it was still important to have all your basic services within walking distance. With the changes over the last number of years, Sellwood has become that livable neighborhood again with much more to offer residents and visitors alike. We now have new families moving in everyday who can walk to the library, food stores, swimming pool, community center, tons of great shops and restaurants, post office, and even a movie theater.
We think we are in the perfect location. Drop by one day and check out Sellwood for yourself!

Happy Birthday Blue Kangaroo Coffee Roasters!
Can it be that two years have flown by since Blue Kangaroo opened their doors? We've been getting our morning cup with Cindy and Flo almost every morning since this small batch hand crafted coffee roaster opened in Sellwood. (And, we gradually moved from basic coffee to our new favorite, the Cubano Americano. Dee-lish.)
Blue Kangaroo roasts small batches of high quality beans five days a week to ensure freshness. Their specialty is producing balanced flavors that will surely hook you from the first sip. The cafe also features baked goods from Fleur de Lis which are the perfect compliment to a rich cup of coffee.
Come join in the day-long anniversary celebration at Blue Kangaroo, 7901 SE 13th Ave (just 2 businesses north of Tilde!) this Saturday, October 2nd. The festivities feature prize drawings, $2 lattes, and balloons for the kids. Plus, the best coffee in town!
