Teroforma Shot Glasses + Whisky Stones
Two words for summer. Shot glasses. Oh, and whisky stones. (Sorry, that’s four words, oops.) Teroforma has created a new collectible – the soapstone shot glass – with designers Thea Mehl (Oslo) and Amit Stoneworks (India) at the helm. Teroforma’s fun and practical whisky stones have pretty well established soapstone’s unique capacity to chill your favorite dram without diluting the drink, cooling from the outside in, rather than from the inside out. Soapstone is non-porous and won’t trap flavor or odor from one use to the next, and you can store in the freezer for a super-cold shot or out in the open for simply a super-cool look.

Teroforma was created by Anna and Andrew Hellman in 2006 simply as a way to meet interesting people, see new places, and create beautiful things. In trying to ensure that their standards for excellence were properly translated into the products they created with their hand-picked designers, Anna and Andrew rejected the allure of mass production in favor of an approach to creating worthwhile objects that would highlight “the quality and integrity of the creative process and the people involved knowing that only then can the finished product ever be considered truly beautiful.”
With summer truly here, we know you’ll want to have both shot glasses and whisky stones in your happy hour bag of tricks for perfect imbibing.

Chayo ceramics
Chayo is a local ceramic artist working in the medium of clay – and has been for over 30 years. Most of her work is hand built – she cleverly uses imprinted textures of botanicals from her garden, lace and fabric, and found objects. From her fine work you can see how the natural world heavily inspires her artwork.
Chayo’s ceramics are mostly slab constructed and while beautiful enough to place around your home as art, they are functional and can be used to serve food, or to store jewelry, keys, or any doo-dad you need to corral.
The artist has been fascinated with clay since 1955 – that’s right! Chayo took her first ceramics class when she was five years old. Influenced by her grandmother’s love of this art (and named after her, too!), Chayo has carried on her love of the craft through her teaching, creating, and showing amazingly creative works of clay.
This native Californian moved to Portland in 2004 and has taught classes in her studio, become an active member of The Oregon Potters Association, and continues to show her work at places like Tilde!
We love Chayo’s work – and so will you!

New York Gift Show
Even as we are enjoying the sweet rays of summer, now is the time for shop owners, such as us, to seek out new items for fall & winter (gasp). This last week we traveled to NY for the big gift show. This year's show was full of amazing goodness and we picked up a ton of new items that will fill our shop wall to wall through the end of the year. Here's a sneak peak at some of our finds!
'Piggy' from Materious. This design is a set of two piggy bank, big & little or parent & child, that fit snuggly next to each other. More than just a bank, these piggies serve as a great way to talk to your child about donating to charity, instilling the values of thinking globally in a really sweet way. The designers state " We believe that this simple product, Piggy, can truly make the world a better and more compassionate place. Piggy helps teach kids about charitable giving, with the hopes of inspiring new generations of caring, sharing, philanthropic citizens."
LOVED these porcelain bowl sets complete with stainless steel spoon designed by Ineke Hans of Royalvkb from The Netherlands. These come in a boxed set of two and are a great gift!
Robots! From our friends at Digs, who work with different artists around the world with a commitment to eco- conscious manufacturing, economic development, fair trade, fair wages, as well as quality design. These robots are made from all recycled material and would rule in any home.
The sweetest little charm necklaces from Odette of Brooklyn, NY. Each charm is handmade by designer Jennifer Sarkilahti in her New York studio. Mushrooms, birds, bees and more!
