King Honu print
On a trip to Kauai, Maggie had the pleasure of bumping into both a friendly sea turtle, as well as a sea horse! Maggie & sea turtle floated along together for quite some time. He was busy munching on bits of sea vegetation among the shallows. Maggie did her best to give him space and he seemed fine with her company. She also found a single sea horse while out snorkeling. Such sweet little things! King Honu (Sea Turtle in Hawaiian) is wearing the crown of King Kamehameha.
This print is from an original watercolor by Maggie Hurley, modified slightly through the wonders of technology. Printed on archival Epson Heavy Matte paper, the final image measures 8″ x 10″ on 8.5” x 11″ paper, leaving a border for framing. Each print is signed and titled.
Maggie Hurley uses watercolors, pencils, and digital media to create her whimsical art. Each piece seems to open the window into a new magical world-from tiny robots wandering in fields of dandelions, to the adventures of a wayward owl, to the hidden royalty of the animal world. Maggie finds inspiration in the way light bounces off skyscrapers, and in the views of clouds from airplane windows. She lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area.
