Crumple Gold Accented Mug
These delicate, quirky white porcelain mugs are hand-built by using very thin slabs of clay with a crumpled paper texture which is then fired in a glass kiln. The result are remarkably lightweight vessels where no two are alike! The indentations are intentional and individual to each mug but they also provide comfortable & cozy handling.
These particular mugs feature 22k gold glazed accents on the handle.

Ceramic artist Stepanka Horalkova was born in the Czech Republic and moved to New York City in 1995. She is a self-taught ceramic artist, focusing her attention on working with porcelain. Her work is all hand built, mainly using slabs that can range from standing vessels to standing abstract forms, wall pillow forms, wall sculptures and functional pieces. Her fascination with geometric shapes and textures goes as far back as when as a young girl, growing in the Czech Republic. She works with a complex palette: under glazes, slips, glazes and metallic lusters.
Handmade in New York City.
