Crumple Pink Mug
This delicate pale pink porcelain mug is hand-built by using very thin slabs of clay which is then fired in a glass kiln. The end result is a remarkably lightweight vessel and no two are alike! The surface feels and looks like crumpled paper and is individual to each mug; the indentations also serve to provide comfortable & cozy handling.
Cup holds: 14 oz.
Size: 3 3/8" tall; 3 3/4" wide.
DO NOT Microwave.
Each mug may differ slightly from photo as each one is hand made and unique!
Ceramic artist Stepanka Horalkova was born in the Czech Republic and moved to New York City in 1995. She is a self-taught ceramic artist, focusing her attention on working with porcelain. Her work is all hand built, mainly using slabs that can range from standing vessels to standing abstract forms, wall pillow forms, wall sculptures and functional pieces. Her fascination with geometric shapes and textures goes as far back as when as a young girl, growing in the Czech Republic. She works with a complex palette: under glazes, slips, glazes and metallic lusters.
Handmade in New York City.
